Just prior to taking the field for the 2009 SEC Championship Game, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy huddled up his teammates on the Bama sideline. With the determined confidence of a mature leader, he commanded, “Let’s go be champions, boys!” And “Champions” is what they became.
Now, on the easel of legendary Alabama artist Daniel Moore his latest masterwork, “Champions”, is coming to life. This expressive work in oils will portray Greg’s second-effort sideline hop for a first down that set up a critical score in the first half. It was this kind of effort that earned him the game’s MVP Award, but it is also indicative of the heart and soul of all who donned the crimson and white on that historic night.
